Tyler Raymond is the Owner and Senior Lawyer of RG Defence. Tyler represents clients charged with all offences under the Criminal Code, Wildlife Act, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Traffic Safety Act; with particular experience defending clients charged with sexual assault, violence, impaired driving and wildlife offences.

Tyler was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 2017 after receiving his Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2016. Tyler was a decorated graduate in law school, attaining cum laude honors on graduation for finishing in the top 10% of his class, among other awards.

Before founding RG Defence in 2022, Tyler spent five years as a criminal defence lawyer and as a Crown Prosecutor. In his time as a Crown Prosecutor in Lethbridge, Alberta, Tyler conducted dozens of criminal, traffic and wildlife trials as an Agent of the Attorney General (Alberta). As a Crown Prosecutor Tyler had carriage of many high-profile cases, was the designated wildlife prosecutor for southern Alberta, and was a member of the Crown’s Impaired Driving Task Force. Having experienced both sides of the courtroom, Tyler is fully equipped to defend you against any charges, criminal or otherwise.

Tyler has and continues to appear extensively before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and SafeRoads Alberta; where his work has been the subject of a number of published decisions. Tyler prides himself in offering practical advice to his clients and helping them through challenging times.

Tyler operates out of Edmonton but is available to defend you anywhere in the province of Alberta, and limited cases in surrounding provinces.
